I participated as a performer in RECLAIM(2010) and Global Water Dance(2011) choreographed by Joni Erin Brown. Joni is a Scottish environmental choreographer and a mother for two kids. Both of us have been inspired by Body-Mind Centering method and Buddhist meditation, which were our meeting points. Joni focused on exploring the relationship between body and water (or fluid inside of the body) in these two works applying authentic movement, the Feldenkrais Method and Qigong to her choreography. This opportunity encouraged me to explore water and human perceptions in lights and shadows later in my own project named shadow meditation(2011).

Notes

How I experience my body and mind in the beach was always influenced

by a whole condition of the environment –especially by the weather (or

the sunlight). In the same way, changing the position of light source in

the shadow play (shadow meditation) also affects both performers and

audiences.
